How we review

Before we get into our reviews, it’s worth understanding how we arrive at our conclusions. Here are the things we consider when reviewing a restaurant.

Food

Our reviews start and end with the quality of the food. We can’t give a restaurant top marks if we’ve left food on our plates. That’s a non-negotiable. We sample a range of dishes from the menu, focusing on taste, flavours, uniqueness, presentation and portion sizes.

Vibe

You know the saying, come for the food, stay for the vibe. Well we’ve taken that to heart. Restaurants get extra marks when the atmosphere is on point, so ambience and vibe really impact the scores we give. 

Service

Good customer service can make or break your dining experience. When reviewing a restaurant we’re looking for excellent communication from waiters and front of house. Menu recommendations and of course food coming out on time. That’s a personal gripe!
