Why trust our restaurant reviews?

The simple reason is we’re locals who love eating out. Having lived in Bromley for over 20 years, we know a thing or two about dining out in the local area. We know the lunch spots, the best set menus, hidden gems and all time faves..

Whether celebrating a milestone occasion or just fancy an evening out, we’re sure you’ll love our recommendations and hot takes!

How we review

Before we get into our reviews, it’s worth understanding how we arrive at our conclusions. Here’s what we consider when reviewing a restaurant.

Food

Our reviews start and end with food quality. We can’t give a restaurant top marks if we’ve left food on our plates. That’s a non-negotiable. We sample a range of dishes from the menu, focusing on taste, flavours, uniqueness, presentation and portion sizes.

Vibe

You know the saying, come for the food, stay for the vibe. Well we’ve taken that to heart. Restaurants get extra marks when the atmosphere is on point, so ambience and vibe really impact the scores we give.

Service

Good customer service can make or break your dining experience. When reviewing a restaurant we’re looking for excellent communication from waiters and front of house. Menu recommendations and, of course, food coming out on time. That’s a personal gripe!

Bromley Town Centre

If you’re planning a trip to The Glades or you’ve got tickets for a show at the Churchill Theatre, we recommend visiting Havet Bromley. Located on 195-197 High Street, BR1 1NN. It’s one of the best restaurants in Bromley Town Centre. Havet serves Turkish food, which we can all agree is amazing!

We ordered two courses for £20 from their lunchtime set menu. For starters, we had traditional hummus and chicken lollipops falafel, which were packed with flavour. For our mains, we had a toasted Lamb Döner with homemade chilli, and a vegetable shish made with aubergines, peppers, courgettes, onions and mushrooms.

The set menu is available weekdays till 4pm and it’s well worth checking out if you’re feeling peckish in the town centre.
